went to ntuc to help my mum get some stuffs. as i was queueing up at the cashier, a family infront of me caught my attention..

dad: "son, come and take a look over at the other counter."
son: "yah wats up?"
*i also take a peep over at the other counter.*
dad: "u see that boys bridage guy over there? and u see that auntie? they are buying alot of stuffs.. looks like its for the charity..."
*i began to take a notice at how nice the auntie to buy 2 trolleys of groceries for the charity. i also feel that the father infront of mi is trying to educate his son to do charity....but.....*
dad: "the auntie is doing charity. yah buying all the cheapest stuffs to do charity...."

i was shocked. stunned. juz when i was beginning to feel proud of the father infront i was totally disgusted by his words. wat "cheapest things".... he DARED to say cheapest things. but at least that auntie is realli kind enough to buy 2 trolleys FULL of foodstuffs for the charity! i'm proud of her! how many of us actually willing to do that? how many of us actually willing to buy so much things for charity at one go? many people when they think of charity they will onli donate those torn and yellowed clothes and expired tins and cans of food (featured in the papers before so its real!).... i'm totally disgraced by that father's words. how ungraceful he is? i dun see him donating... yet he dare to say that others are donating cheap food stuffs. so what if the foodstuffs that the auntie donated is the cheaper versions? i dun think that the needy will actualli condemm it coz its cheap! NO! i believe that the needy will thank whoever is helping them in their hearts! who cares if its expensive or cheap? its the thoughts that count. how can we be graceful singaporeans if we have that mentality? so what if we are affluent? so what? i realli feel like puking...
