had my convocation today!

its a boring ceremony actually. the actual thing started at 3pm but we have to be sitted by 1.40pm!! for what rite? waste our time sitting there for more than an hour like a bunch of idiots.

anyway the ceremony started with the professors and some big shots 'parade' into the auditorium and onto the stage. after all of these people have been sitted, the pro-chancellor declare the ceremony open and one by one our names were called and we went onto the stage to receive our folder. basically its very simple: hear your name, walk towards the chancellor, shake hand with him, hold the folder with him, turn the head to face the bottom of the stage where the photographer was stationed, take a picture, and walk down the stage and back to the seat. this process recurred for almost 600 people and took about 2 hours...

some interesting things that happened:
1. one professor was caught sleeping by his colleagues and they even have to wake him up!
2. one girl dropped her mortar board! the whole auditorium was filled with "ohhhh" and "aiyo"... my mortar board nearly dropped too... -.-"
3. one guy, his hood was slanted to one side and no one bothers to inform him!
4. the final guy who received the folder received the loudest clap! haha! no.. he is not the best student, but probably is because everyone is happy that the boring ceremony is ending!

after that is the refreshment cum photography session. just when i thought where were my parents, little did i realise that they are already enjoying themselves with the food! took a few pics with my friends and that marks the end of the day...
