do i really look that young?

recently i get to know an old granny who lives a few floors above me. one morning i met her in the lift while i was on my way to work and she asked me if i'm going to school. i replied that i'm going to work. when she heard that, her eyebrows raised a few inches!

"work?"

"yah..."

"u study till secondary 4 then no study liao then started working har? u so young work liao."

i dunno if i should say "yah... i study till sec 4 only.." or should i tell her frankly that i just graduated from the university. finally, i decided to say..

"eh.... haha... i finish study liao... and working now.."

(the above conversation was originally in hokkien and has been simplified into english)

anyway, she is not the only one that commented that i look very young. there is a studio at my neighbourhood that provides graduation photo taking. when i enquired about the cost, the boss and his wife commented that i look like as though i'm still in secondary school! well... did i mentioned before that one sunday afternoon i went to play pool with the HAWKERS and the cashier actually demanded that i show my IC as she feels that i'm below 18! OMG!! there are many many encounters... just that i'm too lazy to write them down...

i feel that my looks is a very negative point especially during interview. i guess why i'm not selected for many of the jobs because of my boyish looks, although i feel that i did well for the interviews.

i strongly dun feel that i look that young. haizzz... guess the only answer i can find is that i'm too short. perhaps people associate height in direct proportion to age ba...
