when one..
receives 1 rose = happy
receives 3 roses = happy
receives 12 roses = happy

the level of happiness (or using economic terms, total utility/marginal utility) is almost the same irregardless of the number of roses received.

hence i decided to spread the happiness over to my female colleagues such that each of them receives a stalk of rose each..

i made all happy instead!
