singapore is kena abused again... just because we are 'a tiny country the size of a piece of dried nasal mucus"....

yes, we are small in size. we have no natural resources. our food and water depends on other countries. what we have are only a small port and 4 million people (where a quarter is direct imported). so because of that we are so lowly looked upon by people from nearby malaysia and far north china? now, even taiwan, one of our closest friend, started abusing us with lowly languages. today, they even burned our national flag!

what do we do in response?

NOTHING.

actually is what can we do to response their actions? i remembered a few countries burning our national flag before.. some even go to the extent of riot on the streets. but what do we do back in singapore? no.. we cannot have illegal gatherings, we cannot burn other countries flags, we cannot complain... what we can do is just sit quietly in front of the tv watching those heart breaking news on how other people in these countries burn our national symbol.

its saddening...

no.. i'm not anti-government. i'm neither supporting the opposition. i'm just a small fly in this little country. i'm just sad that as a nation we are always under scrutinised by other bigger nations and we cannot retaliate. we can only endure. we cannot command a bit of respect from them. well, we depend on these countries too much already. if they just one day decides to close their doors to us we are gone. oh yah... these direct imports will also be gone as singapore cannot fulfill their desire for money anymore. they will leave us despite all the promises that they offer us when they want to be PRs....

perhaps thats life. we will be attracted by the benefits we can get at one place. if that place is no longer beneficial, we go. also, the big fish bully the small fish. the small fish better hide and dun make any noise, if not they will be swallowed by the big fish.

maybe our leaders should just keep their mouths shut. open their mouths only when absolutely necessary, such as getting more investments and creating jobs for our people, instead of making so many unnecessary remarks that will provoke other countries. reason: in what position are we to comment about the policies of other countries? nobody wanted a war to solve conflicts. but if that is what they want, what can other countries, including singapore, do?

don't we singaporeans have the "bo-chap" attitude? if our leaders can just exercise that we will be the small fish that makes no noise and have no trouble...
